Marion Warren: Flower Portraits
June 17 - October 30, 2010
Founders Green, front lawn
Opening Outdoor Reception: Wednesday, June 23, 4-5:30 pm
This outdoor exhibition features 16 large-scale flower portraits (4’ x 6’ and 4’ x 4’), limited edition weatherproof prints on aluminum, created from 35mm Kodachrome slides.
In addition to the exterior photographs, there are smaller prints on display in the 2nd floor Lobby gallery.
The photographs were done by Warren beginning in 1972, when Alice Trowbridge Strong hired him to photograph her Annapolis garden on Whitehall Creek near the Chesapeake Bay so that she could enjoy its beauty in a photo album during the winter. After an initial session, he continued to photograph her garden over the next several years in all seasons.
